This is the only public course we are running this autumn. The 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, is the gold standard training if you are serious about developing mindfulness and integrating it into your life. MBSR has been proven to help people deal with a variety of challenges in their lives - chronic pain, stress, addictions, chronic illness, insomnia and so on - but this training is for everybody. If you want to live a more balanced life with less conflict and greater creativity this may be just what you are looking for.
The venue for this course is the Exchange Recovery College in Barnsley. The college very kindly allows us the use of their premises for free and this means we can offer this course at a discount. Concessions are available for low waged and two places will be available free of charge for people on benefits who can be referred by a health professional. Please ask if you think you qualify.
The course runs for eight consecutive Thursday evenings from October 5th to November 30th. There is a break for school half-term holidays. Participants have the opportunity to participate in a day of silent practice in November.
